A New Perspective on the Nonextremal Enhançon Solution
نویسنده
چکیده
We discuss the nonextremal generalisation of the enhançon mechanism. We find that the nonextremal shell branch solution does not violate the Weak Energy Condition when the nonextremality parameter is small, in contrast to earlier discussions of this subject. We show that this physical shell branch solution fills the mass gap between the extremal enhançon solution and the nonextremal horizon branch solution. [email protected] 1

Generalized Milne Space, Eternal Accelerating Cosmology, Ep-branes and dS/CFT Correspondence
The Milne universe is an open Robertson-Walker universe with scale factor being equal to the cosmic time, which is therefore a locally flat spacetime. By analytically continuing the Schwarzschild spacetime, we obtain a generalized Milne space, in which the black hole horizon in the Schwarzschild spacetime turns to be a de Sitter-like horizon in the generalized Milne space. We present a solution...
متن کاملEnhançon and Resolution of Singularity
We review the enhançon mechanism proposed by Johnson, Peet and Polchinski. If we consider the D6-brane wrapped on K3, then there appears a naked singularity called “repulson” in the supergravity solution. But this singularity is resolved by a shell structure called “enhançon”. In the interior of the enhançon, the abelian gauge symmetry is enhanced to a nonabelian one, and ordinary supergravity ...
متن کاملA (Running) Bolt for New Reasons
We construct a four-parameter family of smooth, horizonless, stationary solutions of ungauged five-dimensional supergravity by using the four-dimensional Euclidean Schwarzschild metric as a base space and “magnetizing” its bolt. We then generalize this to a five-parameter family based upon the Euclidean Kerr-Taub-Bolt. These “running Bolt” solutions are necessarily non-static. They also have th...
متن کاملTail and Nontail Memory with Applications to Extreme Value and Robust Statistics
New notions of tail and nontail dependence are used to characterize separately extremal and nonextremal information, including tail log-exceedances and events, and tail-trimmed levels. We prove that near epoch dependence (McLeish, 1975; Gallant and White, 1988) and L0-approximability (Pötscher and Prucha, 1991) are equivalent for tail events and tail-trimmed levels, ensuring a Gaussian central ...
